Every summer Ruth Williams Hennessy is one of the most valued faculty members at our San Miguel Institute of Bel Canto, where she works intensely with our young professional singers in both individual and group sessions. Utilizing her years of experience in voice and bodywork, she is adept at zeroing in on and fixing the tensions in each singer. I've seen her work in various workshops throughout the US and am always in awe of her vast knowledge and analytical skills. What she does is an adjunct to any system of vocal technique! — Michael Sylvester, International and Metropolitan Opera artist; Assistant Professor, Wichita State University

Ms. Hennessy is a most energetic and engaging teacher, who led our students to a new realization of the physical nature of performing and the connection between body and sound. As Ms. Hennessy works, she is always respectful of the work being done in studios and encourages interaction with the teacher. She has a gift for describing the musculature and physiology of the body in an understandable fashion. I wholeheartedly recommend Ms. Hennessy and her workshop to any institution that teaches music. — Jane Bunnell, International and Metropolitan Opera artist; Professor of Voice, Michigan State University

Ruth Williams Hennessy’s Whole Body Workshop is a comprehensive and unique approach to the physicality of performing. In her 4 hour workshop at Ball State University, Ms. Hennessy commanded the attention of 100 willing and avid singers. She shared her vast knowledge of the human anatomy as it applies to classical singing—never losing the audience’s attention. I was especially impressed with Ms. Hennessy’s ability to communicate with her audience. She possesses a large vocabulary, allowing every participant to clearly understand her intentions. In the second half of the workshop, Ms. Hennessy applied her techniques to the individual singer. The results were marked and immediate. I highly recommend Ms. Hennessy’s Whole Body Workshop. It fills the void between vocal technique and musical coaching. — Joseph Levitt, International artist, Assistant Professor of Voice and Director of Opera Theatre, Ball State University (ret.)
